Studio Cherie-Etsy Success and Sewing Pattern Liscensing

Team Member Cherie of Studio Cherie has had some great success and an upcoming sewing pattern liscensing with Simplicity.

Cherie's Travel Duffle Pattern is so chic and sharp looking....it is no wonder they picked it up! This is due to be in the Simplicity books December 17, 2010.
I so love to hear the stories of someone that is finding great success, and find great inspiration in it.
Cherie was kind enough to answer a few questions I had....
1) How long have you been in business? I have been doing upholstery and making slipcovers for myself and local people since 1998. The bags started with a diaper bag I designed and made for a friend's baby shower in Spring of 2003. Time flies when you are doing what you love.

2) What is your favorite thing to work on? Travel related bags and accessories are high on the list and I have a few new things in progress right now, getting ready for my trip to Israel in November. I still really love furniture too, in fact my own house is due for a makeover. Clothing design and construction is my favorite though. It was my first love in sewing, but I just don't have enough time to devote to it.

3) When will the patterns be in the simplicity book The date I got from Simplicity is December 17th, 2010. Coming right up!

4) Any great advice you want to share and turning your dream into reality? Do your best and let your sales determine your area of focus.

5) Anything else you want to add...

I am blessed with very supportive friends and family and happy customers. I work hard to keep it that way. Like anyone else, I just wish there were more hours in the day.

Take a moment to congratulate Cherie and
Have a wonderful day!

Congrats on your success! Pattern licensing sounds really nice, now it's official that no one can reproduce it and calls it her "own" design.

I myself have been fed up with copycats on Etsy but there is pretty much nothing you can do about it. I am happy to see another designer won the right that she deserves and hope that many will follow... Wish you the best!

I can think of a million uses for such large colorful bags. They are so nice!
