This summer team members from Carried Away: The Etsy Bag Makers team will turn their thoughts to kids in need. A blanket of your own when the world is less than friendly can be a huge comfort. So, we're making up at least 4 handmade quilts to send over to Project Linus to be given to kids in trauma. Each member who participates will be sewing up four 12" quilt blocks. The lovely Nichole from Nichern designs has volunteered to assemble, quilt and bind the quilts, then ship them off to Project Linus. Watch the blog for updates as the blocks come in and cheer us on as we sew for charity.

I'm a quilter and used to make charity quilts all the time when I was a guild member.
We received thank you letters from children's hospitals, the kids and parents, and learned how one quilt can cheer them up. I was also a charity quilt receiver during a long evacuation from Hurricane Katrina, so I know it myself, too.
I never connected a bag maker and quilt making, but why not? I know we all have scraps, left over pieces of fabrics on hand. Thank you for this project and thanks to Nicole for her generous offer. I lookforward to reading more detail ;D
is it too late to join this effort? I would love to contribute!
oh...and will the blocks be 12" finished so we should make them 12.5" square? Or do you want them 12" and then they will be 11.5" finished?
