We’ve had a request from one of our CAB Team members for a Shop Critique feature on our blog. This would be for Etsy newbies and for those who’d just like to make sure their shops are in great shape. I think it’s a great idea. After all, we exist as a team to help each other.
What I’d like to propose is that we form a CAB Team “Purse Panel” made up of some of our most successful members. The panel could be changed up every 6 months so that we keep the ideas fresh and give everyone a chance to help. Critiques would be offered on a request only basis. The Panel would give constructive ideas about all aspects of the shops such as banners and avatars, shop announcements, photos, item descriptions, tags, profiles, policies and shipping.
The way I’d like to see it work is…
1. The team shop owner first requests a critique giving specifics about the aspects of their shop for which they’d like feedback.
2. The Purse Panel is given the specifics and asked to provide constructive criticism and ideas within a 3 day period.
3. Feedback will be compiled by the Purse Panel leader and published on the team blog. (I think publishing feedback would be helpful to the entire team, but if the shop owner specifically requests the feedback to be between them and the panel, the feedback would be emailed to the owner.)
Our first steps would be to see how many people would like to have such a feature. Then we need to form the Purse Panel. So, please leave a comment here if you’d be interested in a critique or being part of the Purse Panel.
